This Is My Story
Life, it is what you make it! Author George Benker isn’t sure whether that is completely true or not.
George Benker was born into a somewhat normal family of a husband, wife, and six children. He was the second child (the oldest son) of the family and he believed his life was interesting compared to the average person even as a child.
After George graduated from high school, he worked at a variety of different jobs which included being a typesetter for a printing company. Later on, he became a photographer. George was a pretty good wedding photographer and then he “graduated” to photographing children! Yes, before Limo George, he was a photographer! Looking back, he thinks he was an awesome photographer… and he had fun doing it!
Along the way, George got married and divorced. He had his beautiful children, and he lived life! There was a lot of life that came and went, and George eventually became a home builder! He loved the feeling of building beautiful homes for people that would last for many years. It still thrills his heart to drive by a home that he built so many years ago that are still the prize possession of their owners.
Eventually, when there was a drop in the housing market, George had to decide if he wanted to stay in the home building business or try something different. The “try something different” bug seemed to be the answer! It was at this point that George Benker talked with a friend of his in the limo business and he agreed to let him try it for a couple of months to see how he liked it…and I guess you could say, “Limo George” was born!
Living in Dallas
Living in the Dallas Ft. Worth area is beyond blessed when it comes to all the sports teams that call it home. I have lived in this area my entire life up to this point and it is really difficult to explain how proud I am to be a sports fan here! That’s why I call it ‘The Other Place’ because of The Cowboys, The Stars, The Mavericks, The Rangers, and FC Dallas, not to mention the many semi-pro teams. And I have had the privilege to witness the first Cowboys game in the Cotton Bowl, and I have had the privilege to drive many of the sports figures who are part of our teams here. Many of them give back to their communities, so we all benefit from them being part of us. But of course, it is REALLY fun to WIN the CHAMPIONSHIPS!
From Bachelor/Bachelorette parties, to Valentine’s Celebrations, to Proms to Birthday Parties, to Christmas Light Tours, the experiences were fun and interesting, but some were FULL of surprises! This book will make you laugh and smile. Some stories with Make A Wish may even make you cry. Relive and celebrate the people and places of Dallas with me by reading my book and sharing it with others!
Read the book and ride along with me with your favorite celebrity or sports figure. Or just laugh and celebrate the many colorful people of Dallas with all their fun loving personalities; with their hopes and dreams... But whatever you do, always remember “What happens in the limo, STAYS in the limo….!!!”
I must admit that being a GHOST WRITER has been one of my favorite ‘jobs’ or accomplishments of my life! What started out as a ‘kind gesture’ to help my friend George wound up being one of my greatest joys!
But Who is Limo George? My first impression of George was that he was a big ‘ole teddy bear! He had a big infectious smile, a twinkle in his eyes, an indomitable spirit, and a heart of gold! He would help anyone at anytime! I believe that his list of priorities goes as follows: Jesus Christ, his Savior, his wife, his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren….and then it would be a tie between America… and Dallas, Texas! George will tell anyone in a heartbeat that he bleeds red, white, and blue!
I feel certain that you will enjoy sharing the “ride” along with Limo George as he takes you in the limo…or maybe the party bus for the ride of your life!
But, before you get started…go put on some comfy clothes, get yourself a tasty snack, settle into your favorite chair…and enjoy the ride… with Limo George and Dallas 5466!
